The Ethics Charter
Ten commitments that govern how me we is built.
These are constraints written into the system, not aspirations.
1. It does not diagnose
me we does not identify, screen for, or treat any mental health condition, and it never implies that it can. It works on what keeps people well.
If something needs clinical care, that is worth getting.
2. It does not score you
No number, no rating, no grade, no comparison with anyone else. Not on screen and not hidden behind it.
The system stores three words for each question and nothing that can be added up.
3. Where the problem is the situation, it says so
Where strain comes from how work is designed or from what someone is carrying, me we says so. What is happening around a person is not a fault in the person.
4. It does not tell you what to do
me we offers what fits what you have got. It reads what is available to you rather than applying the same standard to everyone.
Easing off is a real answer, offered as often as any other, and it carries the same weight.
5. It is not built to keep you here
No streaks, no habit pressure, no reminders that you have been away, no content to get through. Time spent in me we measures nothing.
Every part of it has to pass one test: does this help a real person in a real moment.
6. What it asks has to be usable on a hard day
Prompts have to work for someone who has very little available. Short, one idea, nothing multi-step.
Where me we points to support outside itself, it points to something reachable now and never in a way that shames.
7. Nobody is watching
Your check-ins are yours. Nothing goes to anyone else.
The database refuses a request for another person's check-ins, rather than relying on anyone here not to make it.
8. It is a guide, not a companion
me we is not a therapist, a coach, or a friend, and it is not built to feel like one.
9. It deals in tendencies, not certainties
What me we reflects back is a reading of what you said. It says what tends to be true, because that is what is honest.
10. It holds wherever me we is used
Commitments one to nine hold wherever me we may be used in the future.
These ten hold for every future version of me we.
